Writing

Glad I decided to bail on the muse story amd went back to the subtitle one.  The latter was much easier to write and is nearly long enough.  Much relieved to have the portfolio nearly ready.

Thankful for friends who read the partial drafts.

Glad husband is happy to do the cooking and ordering.  

For the walk to the shop, that it's closest to walk to easily and it was dry while I was out.

Remembered to phone my mum and she seemed on good form.  Also remembered to get my dad a card and I can easily post it while husband's at the doc on Tuesday.  I remembered to cancel counselling with the required week notice.

For being fit and healthy, able to walk to the shop and do weights.  Also able to sit in a chair for the day whereas that's for fun or for work.

That I got to see the fireworks out the side window, and maybe next year I'll remember I can see them from my chair.  Is nice being able to watch from inside. 

Fed

Glad it was dry when I was out with friend.  

We had a pleasant enough walk so I got some steps.  Back to the house for a cuppa rather than into town.

The road was still passable.

Husband got me a new computer game, and we can try out the expansions online.

I have a few more paragraphs of a story written and a little bit of time to get one finished.

That we have space for a big table and games storage.  Can leave games out to finish later.

Enjoyed playing with him and the game was reasonably quick now we know what we're doing.

Had curry ready cos he cooked the other day.  Thankful he does the cooking and makes us nice stuff.  Also that I got the other day because that's really nice. 

Exercise

Thankful I got to the tarot zoom and enjoyed it. 

That it was only light rain when I went to the shop, & that trip gave me some steps for the day.

They had a new cake that I took a chance on and is really nice.  And I remembered & found the duck fat I'd actually gone for.

Dinner was yummy.

The film was OK, plenty to talk about.

That husband helps me with weights and so far I'm on a roll.  Progressed to more reps today.

That I got a couple more paragraphs written.

Have plans to meet a friend tomorrow - looking forward to it.

Made a decision and dropped out of the strava group.

Home

Thankful my heels and knee survived the excursion this morning.  That the hoodie saved me from getting too wet.  Managed to thread the lace through fairly easily.

My boss appreciates the hour I put in today.  It was worth it to not do it on Tuesday.

Enjoyed the gaming with friends, & the reminder to go shopping.  

Husband knocked up a curry today and the meat for tomorrow.  He does tasty food and cleaned up afterwards.

Am in the process of unpicking the scarf to redo.  The green one is nice - will just keep going til I run out of wool.

Got the kitchen cleaned and the place hoovered.  Still impressed by how nice it looked cleaned up.  Very lucky to get the house and it was in decent state when we moved in.  That we had the time to get it painted and not much else needed done.

Hoodie straight from the dryer was so warm and cosy.  Glad we have space.

Christmas

Thankful for holidays.

Luxury

We were lucky to get the house and be able to decorate and furnish it.

Also that I've got the library I always wanted with the cosy seat in the bay window.

The woods were empty when I arrived and I got to play on the swings and the outdoor gym.

Husband helped me set up the weights bench and I finally unpacked the weights.

Cleared a bagful  of rubbish out of the shed and it fit in the bin.

Husband did weights with me and I did better than expected.  I also got my 10k steps cos of going to the woods and the shop.

They had suitable cake.

I've started my portfolio and managed to start a new story.  Laying the groundwork for the next few days.  Edited the written piece enough to be able to move on.

 

Holidays

Thankful we resolved the work issue, & without having to stay late.  

That I get a good break for Christmas.

That I got husband to his appointment on time and he was quick. 

That I got round for his prescription - am enjoying the daily walk and it's just enough for me to feel I'm doing some exercise.

Got my shawl finished - plenty of wool left for another project.

Friendly

Had a nice catch up with boss.  

Team meeting was a laugh.

Worthwhile employee

Figured out the analyst's issue instantly and that led me to a document update I'd forgotten to do.

Husband is going to help with formatting.

Logged on after hours when the boss needed help and managed to fix the issue.  Pleased with myself.

Figured out how to do something on another system - proud of myself.  Will help the guy tomorrow.  He keeps thanking my patience and help.

Managed to commiserate with someone who'd been too busy to do what I needed from them.

Noticed another error and got it fixed.  Showing myself as observant and proactive.

Went to the shop for husband and came back with what he wanted and bonus cake.  Saved hin having to meet min. order for the sake of some some cooking fat.  It was dry and calm for my walk.

Remembered to phone my mum and she was on good form.

Busy

Team meeting was a laugh.  Boss turned up earlier than usual.  

He's going to sign my work off.  It's mostly done, just waiting on the lab to get their latest changes approved.

Friend made it back from her trip ok.

Got to the supermarket for supplies.  Was better stocked than I expected.  Also got to the local one at lunch and found what I needed.

Friend invited us round for Christmas eve tea and husband said we'll go if I want.  So we're going.

Counselling was good - I was telling her I was proud of myself for going to the wedding.  And we discussed the face blindness which I've just emailed her the link to the NHS info page on it.

Noticed my library email in time to renew my books.  

Managed to resist snacking tonight - so I know I can do it.

Fed

Finished slow horses with husband.  Glad he finds things for us to watch together and we were cosy under the blanket.

Pizza for dinner.  Happy to have found one I really like.  That I can stop when I'm full and put the rest in the fridge.  

That I accept I will overindulge in chocolate and accept the consequences.  I was enjoying the book I was reading in the airport about that. 

Bonus lunch.  Getting to the shop and back is a reasonable lunchtime walk - and I can get bread and maybe a few other bits like toothpaste. 

Played the new game, is OK.  Have the option to start eating more healthily...  the clementines are really nice and I had a couple at lunch.  There are alternatives to chocolate.  

Work was busy, there is plenty to keep me going and I can update klunk's reports to get them the way I want them.  Have my ones finished and agreed.

Got my document through QA and most approvers- it may go live in time afterall.

Home

Was first down to breakfast & I got the best bacon.

Invited to join people.

Friends found me OK and it was nice to have company for a cuppa and a lift to the airport. 

Got a seat and airport was quiet - got straight through. 

Uneventful plane ride and I got to stand up to stretch when we stopped.  Had plenty time left on my carpark ticket.  

Bus arrived pretty much as I got to the bus stop.

Drive back was fine too.

Remembered to phone oldies to tell them I was back, & message friend.

Happy to be home. 

Husband cancelled appointment I forgot to request time off for.  And his foot is much better.

Wedding

Friend told me to have breakfast & she was right.  Reading the room service menu I saw bacon butties so I went down to reception to pay and got one of those that was both cheaper and better than the continental breakfast - thanks universe for me being unable to pay for that the night before. 

Very thankful that when my phone fell out it landed on the floor rather than in the toilet.  

Venue wasn't far from hotel taxi took me to.  And hotel reception ordered the taxi for me.

Got to check into room early and saw friends as they pulled into the carpark so meeting them was easy.  Groom arrived them too so I got to speak to him.  He kept checking in on me through the day which was nice.  

Friends are giving me a lift in the morning and we're grabbing a cuppa somewhere on the way.

The people I joined were pleasant company and we got on well.  The wedding was lovely and there were plenty of seats so I barely had to stand.

We still got husband's food so I got the crispy bacon from his starter.  Asked for extra gravy which was delivered (& the others were glad of too).  Swapped 3/4 of my dessert for a more suitable one I shared with the woman next to me.

Plenty of food throughout the evening which was nice.  Dinner was really nice esp considering I didn't expect to like it much. 

Escaped to my room and bed at a reasonable time too. 

Very relieved with second flight rather than having to leave at 6am.  Have been relieved about that all day.

Glad the wedding went well for them.

Got some sweets and cake for husband.

Airport

Thankful husband is OK and staying home for the weekend.

That I got him to the doctor's ok and made it to the airport in good time.  The free water dispensers are a nice touch.

The traffic was only stressful for a little while and the directions were good.

Husband booked the parking for me.  The bus was ready to depart not long after I boarded.

Found the hotel reservation and the hotel.

Got plenty of steps wandering around the airport.

Glad I didn't pay for cabin luggage for my personal bag.  There was no trouble at the gate with any bags.

Got a small quiet person next to me on plane & husband's empty seat.  No crushing in aisle when we landed either.

Writing class

Got a chunk of work finished. 

Found an alternative for a report that wouldn't behave.

Workmate let me do the work and he'll review.

Husband booked me onto the later flight - glad the holiday fund can accommodate that.  And now i'm calmer about the trip.

He also sorted out printing my boarding passes.   

My short flash fiction got into the highly commended category.

Enjoyed the drinks after class.

Social

Thankful husband got his prescription sorted and that it was dry and fine when I went to collect them.

That the oven is much better for the gratins and I like them again.

Friends are around during the holidays and so I will have social plans.

A friend at gaming has offered to read my stories.  Am hopeful I'll get the longer one written.

Glad I have my dress sorted and have time to pack for the trip.  Can walk to the chemist at lunch and get some makeup.

Cat arrived and she's happy with it. Also relieved she's at the same address.

Glad I went to gaming.  Made 14 of the 42 sessions this year, which is more than 1/4.  Will do better next year.

Shopping

Thankful I got my parcel posted, and more stamps and cards.  Being in the shop kept me warm for a while.

Project is returned and Christmas card to parents sent.  Was glad of the opportunity to wander back to the postbox.  

That husband made it not of the doctor's and the traffic was fine.  Pulled out OK.

The shop had dettol and some really nice cheesecakes.

After committing to getting more steps and being static all day the evening gave me wandering opportunities. 

Remembered who tree decoration is from so I'm keeping it.  She remembered giving it to me too.  Got her card written.

The last of my documents got approved - phew.  All ready for the change to go live.

Weekend

Thankful for a lie in, for being able to take it easy and enjoy the weekend.

That I can decide to spend the day gaming with husband and own that choice - leaving writing for another day.

That if I don't get anything written it doesn't really matter.

That I heard the shed blow over and we got out and got the electrical items out before they were compromised.  

That husband helped and we managed between us.

For being able to have the heating on and be warm and cosy.  That we have plenty of food and treats too.

Remembered to phone friend and arranged to meet them next weekend.

Friends

Thankful for access to tech, that I managed to identify the key features of the story and have them confirmed.  I have enough to be able to write the reflection on the story I intended which is a relief, and I can tie what we learnt in class into it.

Another friend has my story to review and I've sorted out the indents etc. which I'd forgotten about.

That the drive over was fine, & getting fuel was painless.  Remembered to put gloves in the car.  

Parked somewhere that wouldn't've occurred to me and was a better choice, esp for getting out of the city.  

Found an easy parking space - phew.

Also discovered the works is in the shopping centre so after my no-spend year is up I can treat myself.

Got plenty of steps and enjoyed the walk along the river.  

The hotel snug was way nicer than the coffee shop, I'd go back there with friends.

Choose well for husband's cakes.  And getting the extra one for me.

Popping into the other shop while he was in the supermarket was good.  They have lovely soft wool in - like the Teddy bear stuff.  Have several balls and got my 50 split.

 

Was warm enough in the fleece and coat - glad I took the raincoat because it rained.

Belonging

Thankful for being able to take it easy.  That work was OK and I got a few bits done, & have things to be getting on with.

That boss came to tier and I got to ask what I needed to. 

Workmate came through on what I needed as well.

Interesting conversations with husband.  I love talking with him.  And enjoyed the gaming session.  That I found the dice I dropped.  

Got the untangling done and started on a new scarf.  Is more delicate than I'm used to - interesting challenge.  Looks like plenty of wool.

Remembered to take the parcel shelf back out to car, & filled the screenwash & checked the oil too.  Also remembered to move everything from the footwell for having friends in car tomorrow.

That I remembered to phone my mum and she was in good form.

That I have friends to go out with, share hobbies and enjoy their company. 

Writing

Got there and back in a break in the weather over lunch.

They had all my items correct.

Husband can order my repeat when he's getting his blood results next week, & it's at a time when I can take him.

I got 2 of my documents returned with no comments!!  There is hope afterall.

Made it to work and the market.  Got some nice soaps, same as I was getting from the health food shop.  She took cash which was handy.  

Team trip to the drinks machine, and I dropped out of a meeting early and had a walk around the carpark rather than a second hot chocolate. 

They were thrilled with the table and quantity of donations.

Writing class sparked some ideas and maybe I will write this weekend.   Have hope again for my longer piece.  Remembered to ask when final date for pieces for review is and answer is achievable.

Plenty of cups for the drinks machine tonight.

Managed to figure out what had gone wrong with a new process.  Spent the morning feeling smart.  Also the thing I wanted the citrine to manifest yesterday happened 🥳

Gaming

Glad we got the table to work.  That it was dry for the delivery and husband helped.  Happy it's going to a good home.  Also that I found some soap and a toothbrush to throw in.

For an easy day at work.  Lunch was good and the trip to the coffee machine was fun - & I picked the right drink for husband as a treat since he didn't come.  And we got back to the office in time for the meeting.  

Also finished work at a reasonable time and got to gaming!  Took a new game which was a hit, & I won dixit which was a surprise.  I quite enjoy it with more people.  And I finally got to experience herd mentality (keep seeing it on amazon, glad I was never tempted). 

Decided on pizza and the build your own includes garlic butter instead of tomato base or BBQ base.  Much better.  My dream of cheesy garlic bread with pepperoni is a reality 🥰  glad husband tried out the new pizza place.  He enjoyed his one much better without soggy toppings too.

Energy levels are good.  I had a few mins lie down before dinner and lasted til the end of gaming and a bit longer for a chat! 

Relaxing

Glad the dress fits, am set for the wedding.  That husband is patient enough to zip me in and unzip me.  That I got up when the room was warm so I could take my time trying on clothes.

Boss said they'd delay and there's no need for me to log in after hours.  That we're not in a rush for any of it so I can take my time.

That I'm on top of what needs done. 

Got finished in time to relax a bit before counselling. 

Was enjoying untangling wool whilst tv.  Have it nearly done.  Then I can decide what to do with it all.

Finally took all the bottles to the bottle bank and husband dropped in the food bank donations.  Very glad he came out as I pulled up because there wasn't anywhere to wait.

Happy to be warm and cosy in bed.  For the flexibility I have with work and I don't have to be concerned with getting up in the morning.

Time

Thankful for being left alone to get on with tasks.  That I have work and no immediate deadlines.  The person I reached out to responded straight away and i'm happily chipping away at stuff.

There's a meeting tomorrow so I can find out the progress of my stuff.  I have priority and non-priority items.

Got the cat finished and have decided to send it back so she can do the finishing touches. Enjoyed doing it and glad I'm not keeping it.

That the submission deadline is still a few weeks away and I have the Christmas break to get some stories written.  At least I have some ideas and story outlines produced.

Team meeting was a good laugh and I had time for AI session too.  

That we managed to start a game at lunch and have the evenings free to get finished.

Love rediscovering my crystals through the advent train, that husband fills it for me each year.  He even commented on the room looking less cluttered when he popped in.  And when he wanted document references I knew them.

Friends

Thankful I checked my messages reasonably early.  Enjoyed walk and chat with friend.  Was good to get out and was warm enough.  Took the opportunity to wear new fleece too.  Glad I took the hat.

Had the curry, it was lovely.  Also glad I had soda bread to go with it. 

Tried something new on the backgeound and didn't like it - glad it was easy to unpick and that I made the decision when I did rather than struggling on.  I'll have it finished soon.

Enjoyed my me day.  Walk, sleeving and gaming with husband, then stitching in front of tv.

Have plans for next weekend now - looking forward to it.  Then it's the wedding. Still have time to sort clothes out.

Remembered to message friend to clarify we're not having dinner til next year.

Was talking about the library too.  Am so happy that I have the room I dreamed of as a kid, & I have the chaise-long in the bay window too.  Am fortunate to have a comfy house amd afford heating and food.   That husband and I get on well and life is calm and good.

Success

By the time I got to husband he was being handed the crepes.  Thankful he got them, & that there wasn't a queue. He knows what I like 🥰

Remembered to get the infuser for the tea too.

Dropped off ladder, glad it's out the way.  Also got a quick chat with friend.  

Invited her to dinner and she can't make it - appreciated the offer.

Also that we didn't go for a walk - because my knees have been a bit sore.  & i spent the time with husbamd instead and on things i was in the middle of.  And I don't see us going for one tomorrow 

Husband made more curry, yummy.

And we put up the Christmas tree.  Going to part with a few more excess things I've realised I don't have an emotional attachment to.

Got my story edit finished.  Happy with it and sent to a couple of friends.

Made loads of progress on the cat.  Has been interesting to try a new approach and it's not my work so I'm not invested - freedom to experiment and make mistakes.  Probably not something i'd've done with a piece of my own.  Also I get to post it back so it's not clutter.

The rainbow piece fits in the spare frame so after I wash and iron it I'll be able to hang it 

Husband

Thankful husband filled my train for me.  And how funny he was being all impressed with the drawers he suggested for my crystal trays.  They were a great idea and work really well.  Love the crystal ge selected for me today and it helped with clear thinking.

That he's emptied the fluff and water trays on the dryer.

Contact came back to me about the donations.  Glad I kept them amd didn't deliver them elsewhere today.

That a contact sent a card and I have a new stitching project for once I finish the rainbow.  I could take offence but actually it's a simple one to be doing waiting for screens to load etc.

Team meeting was a good laugh.  

Was an idiot on front of team mate but I still solved the problem quicker than he did.  We had a good laugh today and a nice catch-up.
